# Alan Crichton was born, educated and still lives & works in Aberdeen.
# On leaving school in 1977, Alan began an apprenticeship with R Armour & Partners in Aberdeen and followed a Correspondence Course with the College of Estate Management in Reading. During this apprenticeship, the RICS Part I, Part II and Final Examinations were sat and passed.
# In 1985, Alan moved to "the other side of the fence" and spent two years with Glasgow based John Laing Construction as their Project Surveyor in Aberdeen. He was involved with projects for St Nicholas branch of the Clydesdale Bank, House of Fraser and the Halifax Building Society.
# On 28th November 1986, Alan was elected as a Professional Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. (No 76068); now termed Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
# 1987 Saw a return to Private Practice as Senior Surveyor with W T Partnership. In September 1993, Alan took over the running of the Aberdeen office for the Practice. A wide variety of contracts were overseen during this period.
# In March 1995, Alan decided that the time was right to make a major career change and set up in practice for himself. He continues to run a successful small practice having a reputation for offering the "personal touch" developed over his 25 years as a Quantity Surveyor.
# Also in June of 1995, Alan was honoured to be invested as a Serving Brother in the Order of St John for Services to Mountain Rescue and promoted to Officer in January 2006.
On 28th February 2003, Alan relocated premises from central Aberdeen to Westhill.
